Two additional silicone straws from the American brand EZPZ (pronounced "easy-peasy") are designed specifically for the Mini Cup as a practical accessory, making it easier to use the cup – with these you don't need to worry about misplacing or losing a straw, and you don't have to wash it every time you change drinks. The straws have been designed by a specialist in speech therapy and feeding to help your little one learn to drink independently. Their unique shape is perfectly adapted to the mouth and needs of a small child. The curve and sensory bumps on the upper part activate automatic lip and jaw closure, while the optimal length supports learning to breathe through the nose and normalising breathing patterns. The next stage, after mastering drinking through the curved end of the straw, is learning to drink through a straight straw – this is what the second end without bumps is for. The wide flow (the straw diameter is nearly 1 cm!) allows consumption of drinks of varying thickness. Importantly, the lip rounding involved in using the straw supports progress in the development and use of speech.
